[MA1505] The Last Entry

I hope you did not suffer too much during the exam. Anyway, congratulate you on finishing the module, and congratulate me on finishing the teaching duties in NUS!:)

This is the last "JUNK" email, and I think the following information may be useful for you.

    1. The official solutions to all the tutorials (more indigestible than MA1505)
    2. A./P. Leung’s tutorial slides (hand-written but with more details)
    3. The ultimate solutions to all the tutorials (I wrote many remarks on the official solution to help you understand it)
    4. The tutorial notes (just reminder you some important things, and some short-cuts)
    5. A 33-page Revision used in IES seminar (It cost me 10 days to summarize and write the file, and I think it is enough for you to pass the exam, and get better results with more practice if the module coordinator does not change the syllabus)
  • I have uploaded about 60 excellent books/practice exercises with their solution manuals on each relevant topics of MA1506 for your reference.

If you can access the shared folder: https://cid-957f4598794dd719.skydrive.live.com/browse.aspx/Reference%20Books, you can find the books in the folders named "Differential Equation" and "MA1506 Reference".

If you cannot access the folder, ask your friends in group A08/A11/A14/B07 for help, I cannot add any more contacts to the accessible list of the folder.

  • I will close the account MA1505 (a) live.com soon, but emails will be forward to my personal account automatically, and I will transform all the contracts to my personal MSN account: jin.chenyuan (a) hotmail.com. The skydrive resources will be available forever.

[MA1505] Important Notification

Dear all,

I have confirmed from your module coordinator. Two things here:

  1. Spherical coordinates will NOT be tested this time (final exam 0607 Sem1 Q6(b)). Therefore, we only have three ways to solve a triple integral: cuboid solid; physical meaning; div theorem.

  2. Using characteristic quadratic equation to solve 2nd order O.D.E. IS included in the syllabus, and may be tested in the exam (see lecture notes 11.1.8 and 11.2.4).

I have updated the FAQ file to let you know clearly about the method already (Q19):

    http://cid-957f4598794dd719.skydrive.live.com/embedgrid.aspx/FinalExamFAQ or http://cid-957f4598794dd719.skydrive.live.com/embedrowdetail.aspx/FinalExamFAQ/SortbyContent/LN11|_2.4|52ndOrderODE|6.pdf

By the way, tutorial notes 11 and revision notes are available in Skydrive:

http://cid-957f4598794dd719.skydrive.live.com/embedrowdetail.aspx/TutorialNotes/MA1505TutorialNotes11|50809Sem1|6.pdf      http://cid-957f4598794dd719.skydrive.live.com/embedrowdetail.aspx/TutorialNotes/MA1505TutorialRevision04|50809Sem1|6.pdf

I will inform you the consultation schedule by the weekend.

Best wishes,

Chenyuan
